Exact Mixing, a Reading Bakery Systems brand, is the leading supplier of Continuous Mixing Systems for the food industry. For more than 25 years, we have solved complex mixing challenges for customers across the globe.
We offer a full line of mixer models and sizes that will successfully mix a wide variety of baked and non-baked food products.
What is Continuous Mixing?
Unlike batch mixing, which involves separately loading ingredients for each batch, mixing, and discharging the dough from the mixer before introducing another batch, Continuous Mixing continuously meters ingredients directly into the mixing chamber and generates a continuous stream of mixed product at the exit of the mixer.
Continuous Mixing can be done in stages to ensure that all ingredients are properly incorporated. One mixer can feed multiple lines and can be operated with less labor and energy than batch mixing.
Why Consider Continuous Mixing Over Batch Mixing?
Industrial bakeries choose Continuous Mixing for reasons that vary based on products, processes, recipes, rate and a variety of other factors.
The primary advantage in all applications, however, is that Continuous Mixing produces more consistent dough and a more consistent finished product. This is because, with batch mixing, the time between batches results in post-mixing variations, while continuously mixed dough is always the same age when it reaches the next step in the process.
Other advantages include the fact that our self-monitoring and self-correcting Continuous Mixing systems can be operated with less labor and energy than batch mixers, require little training thanks to their user-friendly interface control panels, and have a smaller footprint than batch mixers, all factors that can help you reduce labor, cut costs, improve consistency, and simplify your mixing process.
What is the Cost of a Continuous Mixing System?
Continuous Mixing systems are almost always higher in cost initially than batch mixers because the raw materials that enter the Continuous Mixer have to be metered, which requires ingredient feeders. On the other hand, cost of operation and ownership is almost always less expensive with continuous mixing.
Continuous Mixing payback opportunities come from increased yield, increased throughput, increased consistency, reduced manpower, reduced downstream handling equipment, and reduced energy.
