Food production companies walk a fine line between making and losing money. This is an economic reality for commercial bakeries, especially during an era of business lockdowns and prolonged supply chain disruptions. Until 1994, operating batch mixers represented the standard for commercial bakeries. Exact Mixing entered the commercial bakery industry in 1994 by introducing advanced industrial equipment for snack production.
With the financial and logistical support of parent company, Reading Bakery Systems, we design and manufacture a line of five continuous mixing systems for commercial bakeries. Our machines operate differently than batch mixers by constantly feeding ingredients into a measurement area where the ingredients are accurately measured for processing to the blending stage. The constant feeding of ingredients provides your bakery with advanced industrial mixing solutions for snack production.
Why Should My Bakery Invest in Continuous Mixing Systems?
Constantly feeding ingredients through a continuous system is one reason to consider installing our advanced industrial mixing solutions for snack production. Continuous mixing systems feature several automated components that increase the efficiency of your operations. Automation plays a crucial role in reducing costs by limiting the amount of food waste, as well as accurately measuring moisture and dry ingredients. With an automated continuous mixing system, your bakery saves money on labor costs by not having to assign workers to monitor performance.
Continuous mixing systems also use only one mixer to feed multiple lines. This allows your bakery to rapidly expand production orders to meet the high demand for snacks, often around holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving.
3 Continuous Mixers for Snacks
Exact Mixing offers five continuous mixing systems, three of which are the ideal advanced industrial mixing solutions for snack production.
As our most versatile continuous mixing system, the MX continuous mixer creates dough for baked goods such as cookies, peanut butter, and cake-style donuts. Solid ingredients rapidly mix with solid fat to produce a uniform mass during a process that does not generate too much heat. This machine works flawlessly with intrusion equipment that our engineers attach at the system’s exit.
Designed to create the dough for chips and crisps, the FX continuous mixer does an outstanding job of adding critical moisture levels right before the mixing stage. A high-speed mixing shaft lifts hydroscopic powders to blend with thoroughly atomized liquids that disperse inside the mixing chamber.
The dough-blending process for crackers and wheat-based snacks requires using the EX continuous mixer. Thin snacks form from delicately blended dough ingredients. Gentle kneading allows this machine to create a dough that forms delicate, wheat-based snacks without compromising structure. The result is uniform dough masses that develop into products consistent in size, shape, weight, and texture.
What is the Role of Hydrobond Technology?
Exact Mixing is the only company that incorporates Hydrobond Technology into its line of advanced industrial solutions for snack production. This technology adds dry ingredients between the housing wall and the turning shaft. Blades located outside the turning shaft separate the dry ingredients into tiny particles that mix with moisture to form consistently hydrated dough products. Moisture travels through small holes at the bottom of each continuous mixing system. The turning shaft spreads moisture onto an even plane for blending that never generates excessive heat. Dry ingredient particles fall through the even plane for processing to the development stage of the dough-mixing process.
